According to the survey conducted by Unioncamere and Confindustria Toscana Tuscany, in the fourth quarter of 2008, manufacturing marks, compared to the same period last year, a sharp decline: -9.2% in absolute terms, is the worst result since started the survey (1997). The heavy decline in the last two quarters brings with it the annual index of production which loses 3.9% compared to 2007.
The same signs of trouble are emerging on the face of layoffs (INPS). The total number of hours permitted in the manufacturing sectors in the last quarter of the year recorded a surge of 27.8% over the same period of 2007, the figure is pushed by another layoff Ordinary (+163.3%), more sensitive to market fluctuations.
And in Lombardy INPS data refer to a percentage increase in cash per common share at January 2009 compared to January 2008 of 316.7%, with the record of the province of Lecco: from 11 thousand to over 227mila hours. In absolute terms, the worst situation is found in the province of Brescia, with more than 1.2 million hours.
